Sculptures
Margery Torrey
Kingfisher Being a sculptor was never an arbitrary decision for Margery Torrey-Godwin. Rather, she has traveled a long , winding road that included earning a B.A. in art history from Wellesley College, studying the great European Masters' works abroad and, a six year stint as a taxidermist at her own "Wildlife Images Studio" in Jackson, Wyoming. She notes that studying anatomy, first hand, as a taxidermist, has been an invaluable aid to her sculpting. It is the vocabulary of form. Her works have been exhibited in museums and galleries nationwide and is in the collections of notable collectors such as Senator John Warner and Mr. Laurence Rockefeller. She is also a member of the Society of Animal Artist and an associate member of the National Sculpture Society.
